Topic: Portfolio Assessment, IT Online Master's Portfolio, Web Hosting, File Structure, and Web Authoring

  • Doctoral students: Start your literature search by first becoming familiar with the UT Library system, if it means you need to make an appointment with a librarian do so.

For Master's students, the goals of this week are for you to become familiar with the IT Online Portfolio. The portfolio framework is a work in progress, but this is also an excellent time for you to provide input. Make sure you review the assignment guide for the portfolio prototype for this course, and start planning for it. For doctoral students, the goal for this week are for you to start your literature search for the final assignment. This may require you to visit the UT library to become familiar with the library. If you are a student from a different program, this week review the IT Online Portfolio Requirements and think about the culminating activity in your program to prepare you for the next move in your career.

Due: Your Asynchronous post is due 9/13 at 11:59pm and your comments to other participants are due 9/15 at 11:59pm.

  1. Discussions with Peers: Think of a time that you engaged in portfolio review, or any other type of performance based--not paper and pencil assessment--describe the situation(s) and then share what you learned from the assessment experience itself, and what you think reviewers of your performance/product were able to learn about you. Provide comments to peers.
  2. No comments necessary: Review all sections of the portfolio requirements and post your comments and question in the designated Blackboard Discussion Board.
  3. Individual work: Review the Portfolio Prototype Assignment for this class, you can start working on some of the sections of the Portfolio Prototype such as your Resume and Program of Study.
  4. Individual work: Keep working on Definition Concept Map and Professional Statement
